40th Annual PSEKA Cyprus Conference to take place June 10-12, in Washington, D.C

WASHINGTON, DC: . – Greek-American and Cypriot-American leaders from across the country and Hellenes from around the world will be gathering in Washington, DC for the 40th Annual PSEKA Conference, June 10-12.
Participants will once again meet with top-level officials in the US Congress and the Administration who formulate U.S. policy toward Cyprus, Greece and Turkey.
At the last PSEKA Cyprus Conference, over 40 influential Senators, Members of Congress and Administration officials met with conference participants. A similar number and level of policymakers are expected at this year’s conference, as well.
The conference once again will be hosted by the International Coordinating Committee — Justice for Cyprus (PSEKA) and will involve the participation of the Federation of Cypriot American Organizations (FCAO), the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA), the American Hellenic Institute (AHI), the Hellenic American Leadership Council (HALC), Hellenic American National Council (HANC), the Cyprus US Chamber of Commerce, and the Coordinated Effort of Hellenes (CEH).
“The Republic of Cyprus has proven time and time again to be a steadfast and critical ally of the United States. The United States maintains high level agreements with Cyprus to use both a Cypriot air and naval base”, states Philip Christopher, PSEKA’s President adding that “European leaders lecture America about Ukraine sovereignty while 36% of the Republic of Cyprus, a member of the European Union, is occupied by Turkish troops preventing 160,000 people, including more than 3,000 American citizens, from returning to their ancestral homes and properties”.
“We, as American citizens of Hellenic descent, cannot abandon Cyprus and its people”, Christopher stresses, inviting the Greek American community to join PSEKA in Washington, D.C. for the 40th annual PSEKA Conference, “as we exert pressure on the Trump Administration and the United States Congress to take immediate and substantive action against Turkey and its dictator Erdogan”.
