The Daughters of Penelope Manhattan Chapter Celebrated Its 90th Anniversary

NEW YORK:. – The Daughters of Penelope (DOP) Manhattan Chapter celebrated its 90th anniversary at the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity’s Chiotes Hall in New York City on May 17.

Maria Ntini, President of the DOP Evryklea Chapter 36, warmly welcomed guests to the milestone event, highlighting the organization’s nine decades of unwavering dedication to Hellenism, education, philanthropy, and sisterhood.

In her address, Ntini reflected on her personal journey with the chapter and emphasized the group’s impact through both national and international initiatives. She proudly spoke of their support for organizations such as the Paidiko Chorio SOS in Thessaloniki, which provides care for orphaned and abandoned children, and Robin Hood, a leading poverty-fighting organization in New York. She reaffirmed the chapter’s commitment to meaningful service and encouraged attendees to stay connected through the chapter’s social media channels.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of a commemorative plaque by DOP Grand Treasurer Antoinette Marousis-Zachariades, in honor of the chapter’s 90th anniversary. Distinguished guests included AHEPA Past Supreme President Andrew Zachariades, DOP Lt. Governor Effie Argyropoulos along with other dignitaries from AHEPA and the DOP.

Musical entertainment was provided by Eleanna Finokalioti. Looking ahead, the chapter’s Board is excited to continue organizing impactful events that support worthy causes while nurturing sisterhood and promoting Hellenism.
