PM accepts the resignations of Voridis and three deputy ministers

The prime minister has accepted the resignation of Migration and Asylum Minister Makis Voridis as well as those of three deputy ministers and a ministry secretary general, the prime minister’s press office announced on Friday.
Voridis, Deputy Foreign Minister Tasos Chatzivasileiou, Deputy Rural Development and Food Minister Dionysis Stamenitis and Deputy Digital Governance Minister Christos Boukoros have resigned because they are named in the case regarding OPEKEPE, the Greek agency handling European subsidies, which was sent to Parliament.
According to the press release from the prime minister’s office “Minister of Migration and Asylum, Makis Voridis, has submitted his resignation to the Prime Minister, for the reasons stated in his letter, which is attached. The Prime Minister has accepted his resignation.
“At the same time, the Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Tasos Chatzivasileiou; Rural Development and Food, Dionysis Stamenitis; and Digital Governance, Christos Boukoros, also submitted their resignations, which were likewise accepted by the Prime Minister.
“Finally, the Secretary General for Rural Development and Food, Giorgos Stratakos, also submitted his resignation.
“The replacements for the aforementioned officials will be announced in the coming days.”
