King Charles, meeting French President Macron, shows his love for Greece with his Greek-themed tie

King Charles III, known for his love for Greece and his signature ties with the Greek flag, did it once again during an official visit by the French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife to the United Kingdom. The tie, paired with a matching pocket square, complemented his grey suit as he greeted the French president and his wife.

The distinctive tie with the symbol of Hellenism, which has become a recurring statement in the monarch’s wardrobe, reflects his Greek roots through his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh-  who was born in Corfu as a prince of Greece- and his love and support for our country.

This is not the first time King Charles has opted for the Greek-themed tie, having worn it proudly on previous occasions too.

King Charles has been noted wearing the Greek flag-patterned tie on several occasions, including:

– During the South Korean state visit at Horse Guards Parade in November 2023.
– At the COP28 climate summit in Dubai on December 1, 2023.
– During a visit to Australia in October 2024.
– At a memorial tribute for his cousin, former King Constantine of Greece, on February 28, 2024.
– During an outing to celebrate the 400-year anniversary of The Queen’s Chapel on June 5, 2025.

The day King Charles wore his Greek flag tie when meeting the then PM Rishi Sunak, shortly after Sunak snubbed the Greek PM, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, sending also a clear message regarding the return of the Parthenon Marbles to Greece.
