Greek Ministry of Development: The goal is a new model for production

Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos participated in the European Union’s Competitiveness Council in Brussels on Monday, in which the main topic of discussion was the Competitiveness Fund.
According to an official announcement, Theodorikakos stressed that “on behalf of our country, we insisted on the need to secure strong financing for industry, innovation, and especially for small and medium-sized enterprises.” He also added that “the goal is a new production model that addresses social and regional inequalities, as well as the major problem of the cost of living, which requires bold, pan-European legislative interventions.”
Within the framework of the ongoing negotiations at the European level, the Minister of Development submitted a six-point proposal:
– Participation of all member-states and fair allocation of resources.
– Mobilisation of all financial instruments.
– Support for industry and innovation.
– Support for small and medium-sized enterprises.
– A “ bridge” programme between the Recovery Fund and the Competitiveness Fund.
– Safeguarding member-states on security issues against companies from third countries.
Earlier, Theodorikakos also took part in the session on the official Declaration of the Alliance of Member States promoting the design of Chips Act 2.0 for semiconductors, following an initiative by the Netherlands.
