600 million euros in aid to be distributed in November to 2.4 million citizens

A total of 600 million euros in aid will be granted in November to 2.4 million citizens, as payments of the support measures announced by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the Thessaloniki International Fair begin, and measures enacted before the summer are implemented.

In particular, this includes the rent reimbursement scheme benefiting 1 million households, as well as the 250 euros subsidy payment to around 1.4 million pensioners, uninsured elderly people, and recipients of disability benefits. The total budgetary cost of these measures amounts to approximately 600 million euros.

These payments form part of a broader aid package recently outlined by the Minister of National Economy and Finance Kyriakos Pierrakakis. The package, worth a total of 2.5 billion euros, will be disbursed gradually over the next seven months and will benefit well over 5 million citizens.

Included are measures such as reductions in direct tax brackets, regular annual increases for pensioners, the phasing out of the personal differential with simultaneous pension increases, a further rise in the minimum wage in the private sector and in public sector pay scales, and increases for uniformed personnel exceeding, on average, the equivalent of an additional monthly salary.
