ReBrain Greece Expands to the United States with Major Event in New York City: More than thirty of Greece’s largest companies have already confirmed their participation

ReBrain Greece, a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security of Greece, is expanding its international outreach with a major event in New York City, on Sunday December 7th , aiming to connect leading companies operating in Greece with highly skilled professionals of the Greek diaspora in the United States and Canada.

This national initiative is part of Greece’s broader strategy to mitigate and ultimately reverse the effects of the brain drain by creating pathways for professional repatriation and collaboration.

Following the success of ReBrain Greece events in Amsterdam, Düsseldorf, London, and Stuttgart—attracting more than 5,000 participants and 120 delegations from major Greek enterprises—the Ministry is now actively engaging the Greek talent pool across North America.

The New York event will take place on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the Marriott Hotel New York (Times Square). More than thirty of Greece’s largest companies have already confirmed their participation, including:

According to EUROSTAT data, between 2010 and 2023, 659,547 citizens left Greece, while 422,688 have already returned, marking a notable 64% “brain gain”.

ReBrain Greece highlights a range of incentives designed to support the return of Greek professionals, including:

50% reduction in income tax for individuals who were tax residents abroad for at least five years, applicable for seven years after their return.

Additional targeted incentives, such as automatic recognition of medical specialties for doctors returning from the United States.

Further incentives are under development across various sectors.
