AHEPA Continues Relief Efforts to Greece: Much More Needed
Ahepans, led by District 25 Governor Nick Papadopoulos, visited one of Apostoli Mission’s distribution centers in Kallithea, one of the poorest cities in the Athens Metropolitan Area. Accompanied by Apostoli Mission Distribution Manager Thomas Vlachos, they visited St. Nicholas Church and had the opportunity to speak with the people who have received food packages made possible through AHEPA’s humanitarian campaign. According to Brother Papadopoulos, the recipients of the food packages greatly appreciate the work AHEPA has done to help them in their time of need. “At several points, their gratitude brought our brothers to tears,” said Brother Papadopoulos. “A couple of times I was moved as some elderly ladies grabbed my right hand and kept kissing it thanking me and AHEPA at the same time. It was tough.” Fifty boxes were distributed on that day. It is clear more are needed. If you have yet to contribute to the AHEPA Greek Relief Fund, please click here and do so today!
