Supreme President Galanis Visits Capitol Hill

Supreme President John W. Galanis made his rounds on Capitol Hill, Sept. 10, to discuss issues of importance to the American Hellenic community and AHEPA’s public policy priorities. A majority of the discussion centered on follow-up from last month’s White House discussion on Greece and its economic crisis.
Supreme President Galanis met at length with: U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson(R-WI), chairman, Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Europe and Regional Security Cooperation; U.S. Rep. Gus Bilirakis (R-FL), co-chair, Congressional Caucus on Hellenic Issues and co-founder of the Congressional Hellenic Israeli Alliance; and U.S. Rep. John Sarbanes (D-MD), who sits on the Energy & Commerce Com

mittee.  Galanis also met with Hellenic Caucus staff for U.S. Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), who is a co-founder and co-chair of the Hellenic Caucus.
