St Andrew’s Greek Language School, bringing language, culture and faith together

Aystralia.- St Andrew’s Greek Language School, Forest Hill-Nunawading, is a well-established Greek Language School operating in the eastern suburbs for over 30 years. As a Parish run school we have experience in bring together language, culture and faith.

They are an Accredited Community Languages School, offering Modern Greek in accordance with the guidelines set out by the VCAA and are VRQA Registered – as a VCE Single LOTE Provider and have been achieving outstanding results at the VCE level.

As a school operating under the auspices of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia, they offer students the opportunity to become more familiar with the Greek Orthodox faith and the traditions of the church. St Andrew’s students also learn traditional and modern Greek dances as part of the curriculum.

They are also proud to offer a two-hour Greek Learning Playgroup Group every Wednesday and Thursday morning for young preschoolers, where parents, grandparents and children come together and commence their Greek Learning journey with them.

The teaching staff at St Andrew’s Greek Language School are highly experienced and qualified Greek Language teachers who are committed to providing a caring and nurturing environment, always encouraging each student to learn to the best of his or her ability.

Students are given the opportunity to attend the annual march (PARELASI) at the shrine and are encouraged to take part in St Andrews’ yearly Mother’s Day and Christmas concerts. The school also provides opportunities for students to participate in excursions throughout the year which are aimed at broadening their understanding of Greek language and culture.

Campuses are located at well-known English schools in Burwood East and Vermont South and classes are run for three hours on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning.
