Greek Australians in top 2021 VCE students in Victoria

Congratulations goes to all the 2021 VCE Greek Australian students who completed their high-school two years under pandemic lockdowns.

Several Greek Australian students in Victoria earned a place on the Premier’s VCE Awards honour roll. The honour roll recognised 298 students for their exceptional dedication during the 2021 VCE.

At the annual Premier’s VCE Awards Ceremony on Wednesday July 20, 324 awards were handed out to the state’s peak students.

Among the 25 Top All-Round VCE High Achievers, with study scores of 46 or higher, in at least five VCE studies, are Olivia Voulgaris, from Our Lady of Mercy College and Peter Frangos from Melbourne Grammar School.

Another 296 awards were handed out to students who excelled in individual subjects.

Greek Australian students who were recognised for their outstanding results in Greek are, Varvara Kapetanea and Chrysoula Lampropoulou, from the Greek Community of Melbourne’s (GCM) Language and Culture Schools.

The GCM’s Language and Culture Schools released a statement congratulating Varvara Kapetanea and Chrysoula Lampropoulou, for outstanding results in Greek.

“The Greek Community of Melbourne’s Language and Culture Schools are proud of Varvara Kapetanea and Chrysoula Lampropoulou and we congratulate them on being the recipients of such a prestigious award.”

The statement said that the premier’s VCE Awards ceremony was also a “tribute to the principals, teachers, and families who play a fundamental role in providing ongoing support to the students during their VCE studies.”

Christopher Rozakeas from Mount Waverley Secondary College received two awards in Philosophy and Music Performance.

Jake Agelopoulos from Xavier College, and Natalia Hrysikos from Caulfield Grammar School were recognised for their achievements in Further Mathematics, and Zara Boubouras from Presbyterian Ladies’ College excelled in History Revolutions. Ariana Argyrou, Methodist Ladies’ College received an award for her achievements in Hospitality (VCE VET), Peter Frangos from Melbourne Grammar in Latin and , Amelia Lemanis from Camberwell Anglican Girls Grammar School scored an outstanding result in Theatre studies.
