Mitsotakis wraps up two-day tour on Crete with visit at Therisso village

New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis wrapped up a two-day tour to his home island on Wednesday by visiting Therisso in the Chania area of western Crete.

Mitsotakis said he wanted to visit the historical village where leading Greek statesman Eleftherios Venizelos (1864-1936) began a revolt in 1905 to demand union with Greece.

The ND leader was given a tour of a related historical building and thanked voters for supporting the party during the first round of elections. “On May 21 you gave us a great and powerful mandate. We will go together to confirm it in the elections of June 25, for a strong party and a government that will guarantee stability and prosperity in Greece,” Mitsotakis said.
