Mitsotakis to ND parliamentary group: I will be waiting for any delegation designated by the farmers on Monday, at 17:00

The election of Kyriakos Pierrakakis as Eurogroup chief is a development that confirms Greece’s enormous progress that brings it to the center of Europe, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Friday addressing the New Democracy (ND) parliamentary group meeting.

The election of Pierrakakis to the Eurogroup seals the return of the country from bankruptcy to growth, thanks to the sacrifices of the Greek people who resisted lies and populism and chose realism, he added.

“The approval of the budget is a positive response to the dilemma of whether Greece will continue its upward trajectory or whether it will return to dead ends and adventures. This year’s Budget is social and developmental, realistic and reformist, with permanent interventions that support the middle class, young people and families. A Budget that takes care of our fellow citizens in the region and especially in remote areas. With a safety net for the vulnerable and with their constant guide of the continuous reduction of taxes and the increase in salaries. Our plan not only defines the economic policy for 2026, but also prescribes the national strategy until 2030, in a country different from the one we received. A total of 2.9 billion will be directed to society, supporting disposable income with permanent increases and stable tax cuts,” the prime minister emphasized.

“The state declares itself open to dialogue, which is why I will be waiting in my office on Monday afternoon at 5 pm for any delegation designated by the Farmers’ Coordination Committee, as we have done many times in the past, because we are the party that supports farmers.”

“This year the primary sector received 3.8 billion euros compared to 3.2 last year,” Mitsotakis said and added: “Every protest must also take society into account.”
