Greek Foreign Ministry condemns Nader Tannous’ murder in Syria, requests immediate investigation

The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs unequivocally condemned the murder of Nader Tannous in Syria in a post, calling for the case to be swiftly investigated and for those responsible to be brought to justice without delay.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out that his death occurred on a day of particular significance for Christianity, the Dormition of the Virgin Mary (15th August).
“ The perpetrators of this heinous act must be brought before justice without delay,” it said, reiterating the need for “ targeted and effective measures” to ensure the protection of all communities in Syria.
“ Our thoughts are with his family and friends,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs concludef in its post.
It should be noted that Nader Boulos Tannous was a Syrian Christian from the Valley of the Christians (Wadi al-Nasara), who was murdered in August 2026.
