Calgary Chapter Donates $38K to Children’s Hospital
Omirou Othisia Chapter CJ11, Calgary, Alberta hosted “An Evening in Greece,” a celebration of Greek music, dance and cuisine, to benefit the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation. The event raised $38,000, which was presented by the chapter to the Foundation at the hospital.
Drama, Greece Chapter Donates Defibrillator to City
Chapter HJ16, Drama, Greece donated an electronic, fully automatic portable cardiac defibrillator to city of Drama for public use. Mayor Christodoulos Mamsakos, who is an Ahepan, accepted the defibrillator during a recent workshop on preventive cardiology which was hosted by the chapter. Even though they suffer from the effects of an unprecedented economic crisis, the Brothers in Greece prove to be standing with their fellow citizens, addressing their needs.
AHEPA Mourns Passing of PSG Moshos
AHEPA mourns the passing of Past Supreme Governor Constantine “Gus” D. Moshos, Arlington, Va., who died August 16, 2015. He was 89. Brother Moshos was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and he retired from Voice of America with a distinguished Foreign Service career. He also was a dedicated member of St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church, Falls Church, Va.. “We are deeply saddened with the news of Brother Moshos’ passing away,” Supreme President John W. Galanis said. “He was a dedicated Ahepan and public servant who served his country admirably. May his memory be eternal.” In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Saint Katherine Greek Orthodox Church. Read Brother Moshos’ obituary.
