Essential travel’ status for domestic flights in Greece renewed until May 14, when tourism season opens

Greece’s civil aviation authority on Saturday announced an extension of restrictions on domestic flights, until May 14, due to the ongoing pandemic in the country.

May 14 has been designated as the more-or-less official opening of the all-important tourism season in the east Mediterranean country for 2021.

The new notice (NOTAM) renews restrictions allowing only for passengers’ essential travel on domestic flights, which includes health reasons, confirmed professional or business trips, a serious family matter and a return to one’s permanent residence.
