Another 14 Greek-Australians died in the last fortnight due to COVID-19

Another 14 Greek-Australians have  died of COVID-19 in the last fortnight according to data gathered by Neos Kosmos.

MeanwhileVaccine mandates for construction industry workers have come into effect in Victoria as the state recorded 1221 COVID-19 cases and four deaths.

Staff at building sites will now need to be fully immunised against coronavirus to attend work, with residential aged care workers to follow suit on Monday.

There are now 16,671 active cases of the virus in Victoria, and 407 people have died in the state during the current Delta outbreak.

There are now 405 people in hospital with COVID-19 in Victoria, of whom 77 are in intensive care and 51 are on a ventilator.

The health department said a further 63 people were in intensive care but their infections were no longer considered active and they did not require the same infection control.

The new cases were identified from 60,818 test results received yesterday.

Meanwhile New South Wales has seen a slight drop, and the first day with no deaths since August 23.
The state recorded 250 new local COVID-19 cases, compared to 286 yesterday. Six new cases have come from overseas.
Currently there are 228 patients being treated in hospital.
