The 20th Los Angeles Greek Film Festival ‘Rendezvous’ at the Egyptian Theatre

LOS ANGELES – Experience the celebratory 20th Los Angeles Greek Film Festival (LAGFF) in the beautiful, classic Hollywood setting of the Egyptian Theatre, on Opening Night, Wednesday, May 27, presented by Netflix, and on Closing Night, Sunday, May 31, co-hosted by the American Cinematheque. There will be a preview festival night, on Tuesday, May 26, at a to-be-announced venue, as well.

A fixture in Hollywood’s Golden Age, built in 1922, the Egyptian Theatre was the site of the world’s very first movie premiere of ‘Robin Hood’, starring Douglas Fairbanks, and remains the ultimate destination for moviegoers to this day. This historic venue has been the home of glamorous red carpet premieres, groundbreaking film festivals, and incredible cinematic experiences over the century it has been presenting films for audiences in Hollywood, the movie-making capital of the world. The Egyptian Theatre recently underwent a years-long renovation by Netflix, restoring the theater to its original grandeur.

“We extend our gratitude to Netflix, the Egyptian Theatre team, and our friends at the American Cinematheque as we joyfully join forces with them in order to create a couple of unforgettable evenings for our communities,” LAGFF stated. “Both nights will include receptions in the famed courtyard, catered by the delicious Greek cuisine of Petros and a lot more. Stay tuned for more updates and… Rendezvous at the Egyptian!”
