Η πρέσβειρα των ΗΠΑ, Κίμπερλι Γκίλφοϊλ, στη “Φωνή της Ελλάδας”
Αθήνα.- Στο περίπτερο της Φωνής της Ελλάδας στα Posidonia 2026 βρέθηκε σήμερα, Πέμπτη 4 Ιουνίου 2026, η πρέσβειρα των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών στην Ελλάδα, Κίμπερλι Γκίλφοϊλ, η οποία μίλησε στο μικρόφωνο του παγκόσμιου ραδιοφώνου της ΕΡΤ, στο πλαίσιο της κορυφαίας διεθνούς ναυτιλιακής έκθεσης που πραγματοποιείται στο Metropolitan Expo.
Μιλώντας στον Αντώνη Καραγιαννάκη, η κυρία Γκίλφοϊλ υπογράμμισε τον καθοριστικό ρόλο της ελληνικής ναυτιλίας στη διεθνή οικονομία, σημειώνοντας ότι η ελληνόκτητη ναυτιλία ελέγχει περίπου το 20% του παγκόσμιου εμπορικού στόλου.
Χαρακτήρισε τα Posidonia 2026 μια σημαντική διεθνή συνάντηση για τη ναυτιλιακή βιομηχανία, όπου εκπρόσωποι του κλάδου απ’ όλο τον κόσμο ανταλλάσσουν ιδέες, αναπτύσσουν συνεργασίες και προωθούν την καινοτομία, επισημαίνοντας τη διαχρονική επιτυχία του θεσμού.
Απευθυνόμενη προς το ελληνικό κοινό, η πρέσβειρα κάλεσε την ελληνική ναυτιλιακή κοινότητα να ενισχύσει ακόμη περισσότερο τη συνεργασία της με τις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες. Όπως ανέφερε, η κυβέρνηση του Προέδρου Ντόναλντ Τραμπ επιδιώκει την αναζωογόνηση της αμερικανικής ναυτιλιακής βιομηχανίας και θεωρεί την ελληνική ναυτιλία έναν από τους σημαντικότερους εταίρους σ’ αυτή την προσπάθεια. Παράλληλα, εξέφρασε την πρόθεση της αμερικανικής πλευράς να συνεχίσει να εργάζεται ενεργά για την περαιτέρω ανάπτυξη των δεσμών μεταξύ των δύο χωρών στον ναυτιλιακό τομέα.

U.S. Ambassador Kimberly Guilfoyle on Voice of Greece
Today, June 4th 2026, U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle visited the Voice of Greece booth at Posidonia 2026 and spoke to ERT’s international radio service during the world’s leading maritime exhibition, held at the Metropolitan Expo.
Speaking with Antonis Karagiannakis, Ambassador Guilfoyle highlighted the pivotal role of Greek shipping in the global economy, noting that the Greek-owned fleet accounts for approximately 20% of the world’s commercial shipping capacity.
She described Posidonia 2026 as a major international gathering for the maritime industry, where stakeholders from around the world exchange ideas, build partnerships, and promote innovation, emphasizing the exhibition’s long-standing success and global significance.
Addressing the Greek audience, Ambassador Guilfoyle encouraged the Greek shipping community to further strengthen its cooperation with the United States. As she noted, President Donald Trump’s administration is working to revitalize the American maritime industry and views Greek shipping as one of its most important partners in this effort. She also expressed the United States’ commitment to continuing its active support for the further development of maritime ties between the two countries.
