Loverdos visiting Berlin; calls on Greeks to exercise their right to vote in the next elections

“There is no democracy without participation,” Deputy Foreign Minister Yiannis Loverdos said in Berlin, urging Greeks living abroad to exercise their right to vote in the next parliamentary elections.
During his visit, the deputy minister met with representatives of the Greek community in Berlin, expressing appreciation for their work and initiatives. He noted that the Greek diaspora in Germany numbers more than 530,000 people, the vast majority of whom hold Greek citizenship, and stressed that the government’s objective is to maximise voter participation in the upcoming elections.
“Voting brings Greek communities closer to their homeland and strengthens civic participation,” Loverdos said during a meeting with Greek correspondents. He added that a promotional campaign will be launched to encourage voter registration and participation, with the aim of attracting more than 100,000 overseas voters.
