HAWC Presents Voices Across Two ShoresA Conversation Inspired by Her Voice, a Book by Varvara IoannouSaturday, August 22, 202610:00 AM Central | 11:00 AM Eastern Register Today: https://tinyurl.com/two-voices Featuring Author & Moderator Varvara Athanasiou-Ioannou As we prepare for the 2026 HAWC National Conference, Daughters of Two Shores: Enduring Values, Inspired Leaders, we invite you to join a heartfelt conversation about identity, resilience, and the stories that shaped us. This will be a global ZOOM conversation, bring your family and friends! Drawing inspiration from Her Voice, Varvara Athanasiou-Ioannou’s collection of stories from more than forty women of diverse cultural backgrounds, this interactive discussion will explore what it means to build a life between cultures while preserving the values that define us. Women of immigrant heritage often navigate two worlds. They inherit traditions, languages, and expectations from one homeland while creating opportunities, families, and leadership in another. Their journeys are filled with sacrifice, perseverance, courage, and hope. Rather than a traditional book lecture, this gathering is designed as an open conversation. Following a brief introduction by Varvara, participants will be invited to share their own experiences. - What sacrifices did your parents or grandparents make?
- What traditions have you carried forward?
- When have you felt caught between two cultures?
- How has your heritage shaped the woman and leader you have become?
- What wisdom do you hope the next generation will inherit?
Whether your family arrived generations ago or you immigrated yourself, your voice matters. Together we will celebrate the strength, resilience, and enduring values that connect women across cultures and generations. Join us as we begin weaving together the stories that unite us as Daughters of Two Shores. https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/sQFIrB2aQMifYxcCCps0sg |
