PM Mitsotakis addresses New Democracy event in Arta

Only thirteen days left until the May 21 national elections, “the Sunday when we are blocking the way -for a second time- to calamity,” said Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at a New Democracy event in the city of Arta on Monday night.

Against all the crises, he added, “we shielded our borders, which are also European borders, we energized our diplomacy, and we strengthened our national defense.”

Minimum wage and pensions went up for the first time in 12 years, he pointed out.

His government also reduced to a minimum the influx of migrants, “thus relieving many of Greece’s remote border islands.”

Speaking of the border fence in the Evros land border region with Türkiye, he said this “will be extended to cover the entire length of our land borders.”

The next four years in government, he said, will see the prioritization of health, education, and public sector services overall.
