Seven arrested, allegedly the traffickers of the migrants boat located off Paleochora

Seven persons alleged to have trafficked large numbers of migrants found on a fishing boat south of Paleochora, southern Crete, were arrested and are to go before a Chania prosecutor on Friday.
According to the preliminary inquiry, the seven suspects were among the 483 migrants that were on the fishing boat that set sail from the coast of Libya bound for Italy.
The migrants had paid the members of the ring between 3,000 to 4,000 US dollars each.
The seven suspects were under arrest were the crew of the roughly 25m-long boat during the illegal transfer.
The migrants are being temporarily hosted in Paleochora.
