PM Mitsotakis visiting New York, chair UN Security Council debate on maritime security

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is visiting New York to chair an open debate organised by the Greek presidency of the United Nations Security Council on the topic “Emerging technologies and maritime security: implications for peace and security”, which starts at 10:00 New York time on Thursday.

The high-level open debate of the Security Council comes under the agenda item “Maintenance of international peace and security” and is open to all member states.

On Friday, at 12:30 New York time, the Greek prime minister will take part via video conference in a discussion with Bastian Giegerich, Director-General of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), as part of the IISS Manama Dialogue 2026, which is being held in Bahrain.
