Bank of Sydney Semaphore Greek Festival returns in January

Preparations have started for the Bank of Sydney 42nd Semaphore Greek Festival in Adelaide to showcase and celebrate Greek culture and heritage within South Australia’s broader multicultural context.

The Port Adelaide Greek Orthodox Community and their team of over 300 volunteers have been working non-stop to deliver South Australia’s most popular multicultural festival after a two year hiatus. The festival will take place at Semaphore Beach, South Australia, on the weekend of 14 and 15 January 2023 with the support of the Government of South Australia and City of Port Adelaide Enfield matched with a new partnership with the Bank of Sydney.

The festival has been a joyful meeting point for friends and families for generations, and that inspired this year’s campaign titled “happy, again” #happyagain

Greek delicacies the likes of haloumi bites, souvlaki, dolmathes and loukoumathes can be enjoyed with traditional coffee and refreshing drinks while the Port Adelaide Greek Dance Academy takes centre stage with distinct performances to live Greek music.

PAGDA’s energy and creative interpretation of traditional dances from all parts of Greece left audiences in awe both at the festival and online.

The Festival program will also feature interactive competitions, live music by local artists and Greek traditional dance groups from all over South Australia.

Supported by event partner Just Gold, this year’s campaign features all the generations of the Sema4fest volunteers, focusing on the community’s resilience, commitment and the joy of celebrating together.

The event will be covered live on the official social media pages, allowing audiences from around the country and the world to enjoy the atmosphere and connect with the Festival volunteers throughout the weekend.
