Syriza will never become an easy opponent to New Democracy policies, Tsipras tells Ioannina voters

SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance is a party that never gives up, said leader Alexis Tsipras, speaking to supporters at Mavili Square in the northern Greek city of Ioannina on Monday evening.

Addressing voters, he added that “we have learned to fight to overturn results,” and the party and its supporters will fight together to the June 25 elections. He also noted that the day after, the party will lead the resistance of antipopular policies “and defend society’s interests,” with a policy program that is fair to all and helps them prosper.

Criticizing New Democracy leader and former premier Kyriakos Mitsotakis, he described him as “a hypocrite, ruthless, irresponsible and dangerous for the nation.”

Syriza, he added, “never was, is not, and never will be an easy opponent,” while the easy bipartisanship that New Democracy seeks is not working out, nor will the great distribution of votes to smaller parties, making them easier targets.

Syriza will remain the strongest alternative before the governance of New Democracy, Tsipras said.
